Oral Calcium Strategies for periparturient dairy Cows and buffaloes:

Freshening cows

  • One bottle 12-24 hours prior to calving, another bottle within 6-12 hours post calving.
  • After successful IV treatment of down cows

  • Prevent hypocalcemic relapses.
  • One dose after cow is up and swallowing, one dose - 12 hours later.
  • Early (stage 1) milk fever cases

  • Cold ears, wobbly, triceps tremors, poor GIT motility.
  • One bottle now, another bottle 12 hours later.
  • Off-feed early lactating cows

  • Cover for secondary hypocalcemia.
  • One bottle now, another bottle 24 hours later.
  • Sheep and goat:

  • 50 ml per day prescribed according to Veterinarian recommendations.
  • Special precautions

  • Cattle must have a swallowing reflex and considerable ruminal motility for the product to be effective.
  • Restrain the animal and introduce the nozzle end of tube at corner of the mouth. Direct the tube backwards and extrude gel on the back of the animal's tongue and allow animal to swallow gel contents slowly to avoid drenching accidents.
  • Cattle should be allowed free access to water after administrating the gel.
  • Shake well before use.
  • Ingredients:

  • Each 500 ml squeezable bottle contains:
  • lonic calcium: 45 gm

    Magnesium: 1 gm

Calci Do Mag gel provides your freshening dairy animals with everything they need to support their recovery, health and production:

    CALCIUM

    Ca

  • As a cow approach calving, large amounts of calcium are removed from the blood and deposited into colostrum pre-calving and into milk post-calving
  • Often the cow is unable to absorb calcium fast enough to meet this calcium demand which leads to milk fever (low blood calcium levels).
  • CALCI DO MAG Oral Gel is an easy-to-feed option to complement IV fluids in severe cases or rapidly elevate blood calcium levels in mild cases.
  • VITAMIN

    D3

  • Vitamin D3 or cholecalciferol the active form of Vitamin D - stimulates active transport of calcium from the gut to the blood stream. Vitamin D3 is included for its influence on improved calcium absorption.
  • MAGNESIUM

    Mg

  • Is essential for parathyroid hormone (PTH) release and responsiveness which is required for calcium homeostasis.
  • Magnesium chloride is rapidly absorbed following oral administration and is included to assist where mild lactation tetany may co-exist with milk fever.
  • Cobalt

    Co

  • Ensures that Vitamin B12 production is maintained for carbohydrate, protein and fat metabolism with maintenance of good appetite.
  • Choline Chloride

Lipotropic factor enhances fat transport from the liver to assist in fatty acid metabolism.
    + Glucose level
NEFA" Non-Esterified Fatty Acids" and ketone bodies.
    ✔promotes a healthy liver

    Propylene Glycol

  • Acts as a glucose precursor, triggering the production of more glucose from the liver. This will help to elevate blood glucose level, assist removal of ketones, and accelerates general metabolic function.
